"You can't think about it," Horry said. "You've got to be like a duck and let the water roll off your back." |

"Just a lot of key baskets by a lot of guys," Robert Horry said. "That's the great thing about home court: You've got a comfort zone and those guys made those shots."
"That shows you how much we need the big fella and how much we count on him," Horry said. "Even though he's out there on the court and we don't use him sometimes on offense, he still makes it easier for the rest of us to get shots because they're so conscious of him." |

Spurs forward Robert Horry said the perception of the Spurs as boring was more elementary: They don't do a lot of attention-getting interviews or commercials. "Let's just say that we changed Tim's whole persona and he was a more outgoing guy," Horry said. "If he does the same things as, say, Shaq does, that would be an exciting team. He'd be on TV and doing commercials. But if you look on the play on the court, we're just as exciting, I think, as everybody else. Especially Manu and Tony, some of the things that Tony does. No dunks, but that's the only thing they can say. We don't dunk." |

"If I'm Utah, I don't get down," Robert Horry said. "You have to think, 'Hey, they took care of things on their home court, in their gym, where they shoot the ball well. Now, let's go do the same in ours, in our gym, where we shoot well.' If I'm Utah, that's the attitude I take." |

“We just came out aggressive and really took care of the boards. You have to take care of home court and how you do that against this team is to take care of the boards.”
“If I’m Utah I don’t get down. You have to think they took care of things on their home court, in their gym, where they shoot the ball well. Now let’s go do the same in ours, in our gym where we shoot well. If I’m Utah, that’s the attitude I take.”
(on Duncan) “It’s incredible really. What he does night in and night out is incredible, especially in this day and age when defenses are designed sometimes to shut guys down. Our offense runs through him, he is the head of our snake and everyone knows that yet he still manages to produce. It’s a testament to his abilities. His place in history is sure to find him as one of the best power forwards to ever the game. But don’t tell him I said that.”
“Our three point shooting was key. They forced us to make shots and down the stretch, everyone, well everyone but Robert Horry, came up huge and hit big baskets when we need them.” |

"The thing about that is, they take a lot of outside shots," Horry said of the Denver Nuggets. "You've got a big, strong guy like Nenê on your back and you give up a couple inches, and he can jump and get the rebounds. He gets the rebounds right off your hands. He's a monster on the boards, so we've got to play him like we used to play (Dennis) Rodman: Just push him out of bounds and don't even worry about it."
"It's the energy in the gym," Horry said. "There's just something special about the playoffs. The fans come in hyped, and that gets you hyped and helps give you a push." |

"It's hard because every time we're playing a game they're playing, but I keep up with them a lot," said Horry of the Alabama Tide. "(Associate athletic director) Wendell (Hudson) keeps me informed. We talk about what's going on."
"The key for them to win is they're going to have to go inside-out," he said. "You have to establish (power forward Richard Hendrix's) inside presence, then make them compact their defense and kick it out to the shooters. I'm a big man, so I'm always thinking throw the ball inside, then kick it out."
"I get kind of jealous when I walk around here," Horry said. "Where was all this when I was here? When you have a great facility like this, you get recruits to come in and you keep the school on the map. I'm very impressed, especially what they did with Bryant Hall. I'm used to going in there and laying my head down. Now it's a great place for academics."
"They were so giddy," Alabama coach Mark Gottfried said. "They were wanting autographs and pictures. Robert's such a great person and I'm glad he spent time with our players. He's one of the great ambassadors we have for the University of Alabama." |

"To me, saying you're pacing yourself is like saying you're half-assing it," he said. "I don't believe in that."
"You can't pick when you're going to get hot," Horry said. "It just happens." |

"People always say that (about the playoffs)," Horry said as he prepared himself before the Spurs' victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, "but I just do what I can. When the playoffs start there's just so much more adrenaline going, and that helps out a whole lot."
"You (media) guys can vote now," Popovich said when questioned about how the Horry-Bonner dynamic is apt to develop. "I don't know who the hell comes in first with those guys. It's a feel, matchups, who's healthy, or if it's a back-to-back. I still haven't figured that one out."
"I won't say I've got plenty let in the tank," Horry said, "but I got some left. I can still play. I probably won't be able to give you a great effort every night. That's probably one of the reasons (Popovich has concerns). There's some nights I'm just dog-tired, for no reason. Too many playoff games in too many years. This is my 15th year. I'm 36. Playoffs every year. Past the first round every year. I had a lot of short summers."
"It's funny," Horry said. "Sometimes I say to myself, 'Should I be selfish and not tell him nothing; not work with my replacement. They brought him in to be my replacement, so I ain't telling him nothing.' "
Let the record show: Horry was laughing as he made this statement, and quickly made it clear he was teasing.
"The more I help him out, the more he's going to help the team out, and you know I'm a team guy," Horry said. "I've got to teach him how to block a shot, though. He doesn't know how to block a shot. Sometimes all you've got to do is just get your hands up. Intimidation is a factor. Block one, and everybody is going to go, 'Ooh, I don't want to take it in there.'"
"I don't even think about the minutes I get and Rob gets," Bonner said. "Whatever minutes I get I'm going to play hard. Some nights I play a lot; some nights I don't. It doesn't matter. I'm just excited to have an opportunity to help contribute on this great team." |
